Every piece of plastic produced on the planet remains on the planet. Forever.

We can re-use, re-design and recycle but it is still here- often in landfill or in our oceans. We can all help to reduce the amount of single-use plastic being produced by reducing the demand. Refusing to buy products which come in single-use plastic and wrapped in single-use film is a starting point. So, next time you are out shopping, why not look closely at the packaging and avoid the following:

⁃ anything which has a bin symbol on it

⁃ anything stating ‘not yet recycled’

⁃ ‘widely recycled’ - this does not necessarily mean it can go in your recycling bin and you might have to go to some lengths to recycle it properly.

Look at the space taken up by this waste in your bin and imagine how it all adds up over the year - and that’s just one household! Could you make a conscious effort to reduce this? Small changes can have a huge impact. PLEASE give it a go.

There is no planet B.
