If you are having a clear out of electrical or electronic items this Spring, bear in mind the following:

Items which are in good working order, can be given away easily to family, friends, or on Facebook via local recycling groups.  Many charity shops can also take them now so it's worth asking.  There are also volunteer-run initiatives springing up which  receive  items, catalogue and PAT-test them, then let others borrow them. Eg Bollington Borrowers.

Items which are not working or which you cannot re-home, can be taken to your local recycling centre or to  Currys.  Similarly, B and Q will take back items which you originally purchased from them. 

So, go ahead and check these out online.  Together, we can stop items going to landfill.
