If you are updating your wardrobe please remember to recycle your clothes and avoid landfill. As well as the obvious places like charity shops and clothes banks, here are some other options:
- Donate via a high street store and obtain vouchers in return. For example, H&M; M&S; Levi’s.
- Unused knickers and unwanted bras in good condition can be sent to Africa where they can make a huge difference to the communities. A quick check on-line can reveal where they are collected locally. ‘Smalls For All’ will take them off your hands and recycle any old bras too, as will other charities such as Againstbreastcancer.
- Sell them online - via places like Facebook, Depop or Ebay.
- Donate to school for use in Textiles. Students can make use of the material as well as the embellishments such as buttons.
- Go on your local ‘free cycle’ via Facebook. There are people requesting clothes and fabrics all the time - even your used socks!
