The LRC is open 8.30am - 4.30pm Monday to Thursday and 8.30am - 4.00pm on Fridays.
There are many different kinds of resources for you to use including PCs, photocopier, printer and, of course, an excellent choice of fiction and non-fiction books. Your LRC account enables you to borrow up to four items for three weeks at a time.
Access the Read More pages within Firefly to explore a wealth of extra reading resources including:
- Reading Cloud where you can not only search for resources but also log on to your own account to check your borrower status, reserve and recommend books or even write book reviews for others to read;
- E Platform where you can borrow E-books and audio books;
- Lots of recommended reading!
ICT Work
Logging into the School Computer Network
Whenever you wish to log on to the school network you will be required to enter your username and password. This information will be provided to you once you start at the school. It is very important that you:
• Remember these details once issued to you and write them at the front of your Planner.
• Do not pass them on to anyone else.
Your network login will also be used to access Firefly and Microsoft Office 365.
As part of Microsoft Office 365 you will have access to Microsoft OneDrive. Your Microsoft OneDrive is your own personal area and should be used to save and store school-related work. You can access this at home or in school using the link on the Firefly dashboard.
When saving your work, think carefully about where you are saving it (don’t just click save in the location that automatically appears – it will be more difficult to find again afterwards).
USB drives will not connect to school computers so use OneDrive for storing your files and accessing them at home and at school.
Ask your form tutor, ICT teacher or ISS (in room 127) how to use OneDrive if you are unsure.
