Have a look at the summer work below and make sure you are ready for September. Hope you all have a lovely summer whatever you get up to and I will look forward to seeing you again soon. If you have any questions email me at    fbargery@wilmslowhigh.com

1. Join the Quizlet A level page here quizlet.com/join/VSD8MzYJ9. You can get ahead by starting to learn vocabulary. Learn this vocabulary set for the first topic https://quizlet.com/_4zrkfe?x=1jqt&i=tqkw6

2. Grammar Tasks - Complete all the work in the Grammar Tasks folder below. Complete all tasks in the cuaderno de gramática booklet and bring this with you in September . Make your own knowledge organiser for each of the tenses. When you return in September I will be asking to see your Grammar and Tenses Knowledge Organisers ON THE FIRST DAY BACK as well as the booklet so make sure these are all completed. You need to have mastered the key tenses - Present, Preterite,Perfect,Imperfect,Future,Conditional (regular and irregular verbs). At A level there is not a lot of time to go back over the basics of grammar which you learnt at GCSE therefore it is vital that you spend the summer revisiting everything you have studied and closing any gaps.

3. In the first week of  Year 12 you will have a grammar test on regular verbs for the Present, Preterite,Perfect,Imperfect,Future,Conditional. You will need to know the verb endings for these tenses.

4. Spanish is not only spoken in Spain but in many other countries in South and Central America. In the A level course your topic will not just cover Spain but all Spanish speaking countries so it is important you know where they all are. Complete the Spanish speaking world tasks below. Please have your presentation ready for the first lesson.

5. Below I have put some ideas of how to upkeep your Spanish over the summer and I would expect you to do these throughout the A level Course also

a) Watch a Spanish TV series or film(s). I have given you lots of ideas from Netflix in the  Spanish TV and Film Folder Spanish TV and Film

b) Keep up to date with news stories in Spain and Latin America. Try to read an article in Spanish every week. Remember you are not just learning the language you are learning about social issues, history and culture.

C) Start reading El Boletín which is a weekly A Level Spanish newsletter. Every uniquely designed edition includes three topical texts, a vocabulary search and an A Level exam style question. I want you to record in your transition booklet which ones you have read over the summer. The link is below.

d) Listen to Spanish when you can. Read over the Transición al Español document again on the front of the Spanish firefly page for ideas of podcasts.

6. You will need to buy your own copy of the text book. See below. Make sure to order it soon to avoid any delays.

You can have a look at the text book online when you log into Kerboodle

It would also be good to buy the book below. www.amazon.co.uk/AQA-Level-Spanish-Translation-Workbook/dp/0198415559
