CGP – Head Start to A-level Biology

For part of this transition work you will need to buy a copy of the CGP Head Start to A-level Biology booklet. The purpose of this booklet is to help bridge the gap between GCSE and A-level and your tasks are based on this.  This can be purchased from Printworks for £3.50.  They usually have a small number in stock but you may wish to email them to check (printworks@wilmslowhigh.com).  Alternatively it can be easily sourced from online stores.

CGP A-Level Biology: Essential Maths Skills

This is an excellent guide to help you through the maths requirements for the course.

AQA Biology A-level (Oxford)

It is not a requirement to purchase the course textbook, but many previous students have preferred to have their own copy for completing independent work at home.  You will be given access via Kerboodle to an electronic copy of the textbook once you start your studies in Year 12.  It is possible to buy the same textbook in 2 instalments as Year 1/AS and Year 2, however this costs more ultimately.
