Since 2019, all GCSEs in England are now graded from grade 9 (the highest grade) to grade 1 (the lowest grade). The infographic below shows how the numerical grading system aligns with the previous A-E grading system.

BTEC and Cambridge National qualifications use a different grading system again based around Pass, Merit and Distinction grades. The infographic also shows how this grading system fits with the 1-9 and A-E systems.
