In many schools, students in Year 9 are given pre-planned option pools to choose their subjects from.
Due to our size, we’re able to design our option pools around the course choices made by our students. This happens once the application process has closed and we quickly get to work on planning our grouping, timetable and staffing. Changes to course choices made after this process are possible but might be limited by clashes with other subjects or groups already being full.
For this reason, it’s important to do your research at this initial stage and to try and avoid any future changes. This will ensure that a student has their optimal timetable and doesn’t need to make any compromises on their chosen courses further down the line.
