This year we are aiming to do all the usual things that we know work well in preparing our Year 11 students for their exams... but also adding in some further builds to support them in doing even better in 2025
Strategy 1: The 14-week plan to take us to the START of the exams
We explained in the Year 11 Results Evening (12 January) that we will be using a 14-week plan. All teams are producing their 14-week plan and these will be shared with parents/ carers
Strategy 2: More focus on structuring time
Getting students to focus more in their planning/ structuring on WHAT type of work that they are doing helps to ensure that nothing gets missed out. The 4-colour pens help with this as students have a specific colour for catching up of work (for example work missed in Year 10.) Catch up work is obviously individual to the student and so doesn't appear on the general 14-week plan.
If you're wondering why the image above refers to a 15-week plan... Ofsted put us back by a week!
Strategy 3: More focus on teaching students revision strategies IN lessons (and an overview so that you can see which subject is doing what)
Research indicates that revision is more effective when taught in a subject context. There are 16 great strategies to use...

Strategy 6: Supporting students to tap in to some of the great Apps out there
Mr McGregor and Mr Hall will be supporting with this. Find out more at the link below and let them know of any other good Apps that you hear about. This could be a game changer!

Strategy 7: School support during the 14-week period
Exam Mondays (now in the Gym) support students in improving their exam technique and building exam stamina. Students can use Study Base on Tuesdays and Wednesday, and for Flashcard Thursday!
Strategy 8: School support during the 14-week period
Curriculum Teams building strong intervention programmes. Vital that students attend where these are recommended.
