Effective Revision Strategy 1: Revision Clock
- Step 1 - Get a blank A3 sheet, use a double page of your exercise book or use the template below
- Step 2 - Draw a clock in the middle, title this the topic/subject you are revising
- Step 3 - Break your revision into 10 minute chunks, include 1 rest break
- Step 4 - Insert topic titles, questions, or tasks as sub headings in each section
- Step 5 - Set an hour timer and begin the tasks
Effective Revision Strategy 2: Mind Mapping
- Step 1 - Get a blank piece of paper, write in the subject and sub topic of your choice
- Step 2 - Add 6 branches, leaving space underneath, sub title them to the relevant topic
- Step 3 - Without notes, "brain dump" everything you know about this topic in black (20 mins)
- Step 4 - Using revision resources, add or correct your work in a different colour pen (20 mins)
- Step 5 - Read a section, cover it, recite the content verbally, check it is correct, repeat (20 mins)

Effective Revision Strategy 3: Flash Cards
- Step 1 - Get your flash cards ready, different colours for different subjects / topics is most useful
- Step 2 - On one side write a title; e.g. plant cells (Sci), Mr. Birling (Eng), surds (Maths)
- Step 3 - On the other side of the card, write key information, an exam question, a diagram
- Step 4 - Read, review and recite each card for 10-20 minutes
- Step 5 - Test yourself or a friend, have the title on show and recite what is on the other side

Effective Revision Strategy 4: Lesson Reviews / Note Condensing
- Step 1 - Grab a pack of highlighters, different coloured pens and your exercise book
- Step 2 - Start from the beginning of a topic, review information on each lesson
- Step 3 - Highlight any key words, examples, case studies, statistics, equations
- Step 4 - In a green pen, add & develop your work to improve descriptions stretching your mark

- Step 2 - Review your notes, flash cards and mind-maps for 10 minutes
- Step 3 - Get yourself in a quiet space, set a timer to reflect exam conditions
- Step 4 - Begin the paper / questions sticking to timings
- Step 5 - Once finished, review your work using the mark schemes on the exam board website
