HOW TO REVISE 2024
1. Make sure you know the plot and key characters. Re-read the text and watch the film version so that you can confidently speak about each character and the main events.
2. Ensure that you know the social and historical context of the play so that you can refer to this in the exam to score marks for AO3. You should learn by heart the context facts in the document below.
3. Learn key quotations off by heart and ensure that you know which words and phrases you would analyse in more detail to score marks for AO2.
4. Create essay plans for key questions and characters. Make sure you have a clear thesis statement and three BIG IDEAS that you refer to that link to Shakespeare's overall message and purpose.
5. COMPLETE PRACTICE QUESTIONS IN TIMED CONDITIONS! (45 minutes) Use the pre-submission checklist to self-assess and, if you need, the writing scaffold.
6. Once complete, self assess your essays by colour coding them against the assessment objectives:
AO1 Line of argument/ focus on the question/ use of quotes to back you up
AO2 Close language analysis and the impact on the audience
AO3 Referring to the social and historical context and Priestley's messages about society
